FOUNDER’S DAY – 2019

Abraham Lincoln once said “The philosophy of the school room in one generation is going to be the philosophy of the government in the next”

Lincoln’s thought resonates very closely with the genesis of our School. Our founder, Dr. Bhai Mahavir founded Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir, to emulate this very thought and prepare students to become citizens of the country and the world, and to equip them to contribute positively towards nation building. He was deeply inspired by Bhai Parmanand’s philosophy of reinvigorating the vedic glory of Indian culture and traversing the path by taking everyone together, albeit challenging everyone to deliberate and debate extensively.

Dr. Bhai Mahavir’s philosophy of education is further accentuated in his thought, when he said “Creativity is the Keystone of every paradigm in Education.” His thought has taken a strong foothold in the entire premise of education delivered at Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir, where we challenge our students to challenge themselves to expand their horizons in as many ways as possible. His vision was that educators and schools should serve as a platform for exchange of ideas and enable students to come up with solutions for the problems that most plague the world.

In an attempt to pay our ode to this glorious vision and to enable our students to take the right steps towards realizing it, we keep organizing regular events. One of the most important events in this endeavour is our Founder’s Day, “VisionAir – An Ode to the Vision of our Founder”, which is celebrated with students gathering from various Schools from around the Delhi – NCR region, and keenly contesting various Inter-School events, focused on areas that are essentially the building blocks of any modern nation, varying from Business, Economics, English, Mathematics, Computer Science & Robotics and Debate.

This year Visionair was celebrated on 24th and 25th October, 2019, and it was focused on the theme of the United Nations Development Programme and its Sustainability Goals of 2030.
