Ad-Mad Show

Shankaracharya House  hosted an inter house Ad Mad Competition on 28th August, 2023.The purpose of the event was to unleash the innovative potential of the students. The students showcased  their talent on the stage and skillfully advertised different products with the help of various props. The participants were lauded and the winners were announced at the end of the competition. There were two categories:

                                   FOUNDER’S DAY (VISIONAIR)

Shankaracharya House hosted the School Founder’s Day ‘Visionair’ on 18th and 19th November 2022 to commemorate the memory of our revered Founder Chairman, Dr. Bhai Mahavir Ji. A  panorama of Inter-School Competitions were conducted to accelerate the talent and industry of our young students. Schools from around the Delhi – NCR region were invited to represent themselves in various competitions.The theme of Visionair this year was “R.I.S.E- Reflect, Inspire, Synthesize, Enhance”. 

The Overall Championship Trophy was bagged by Vivekanand School.

INTER- HOUSE STREET PLAY COMPETITION

An Inter-House Street Play Competition was organised on 29th April, 2017, for the purpose of exhibiting different dimensions of our society. Shankaracharya House, Patel House and Tagore House presented on the Topic- “Every Bit Counts- Save Planet” and Aryabhatta House presented on the Topic- “Indian Culture and Heritage can’t be uprooted by Westernisation”.

Each house presented these social issues in such a way that it successfully aroused the feeling in the audience, that there is a strong need for change in our lifestyle for the betterment of our society.

It was a close competition in which Patel House bagged the First Prize.

INTER – HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION


“Dance is the poetry of the foot.”

Dance is the hidden language of the soul and an expression of joy. Going by Dryden’s words and also in keeping with the theme of the month, ‘Colours of India’, the Shankracharya House organized an Inter- House Dance Competition for the children of Classes III – V on 2nd September 2016. The four Houses performed to the beats of the following dance styles-

  • Aryabhatta             –   Lavani
  • Patel                       –   Bhangra
  • Shankracharya       –  Dandiya
  • Tagore                   –   Goan

The true fervour and colours of India were witnessed on the stage and it was indeed a treat to watch the little dancers of BVM dance on the stage with such delight and competitive spirit. Amidst the loud cheer and applause of the audience, the judges declared the winners.

Patel House and Aryabhatta House got the First position in the competition.

INTER HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION

On 30th August 2016 an Inter House Debate Competition was organised in Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir School to promote the oratory skills of the students. The students of class VI to XII participated in the debate enthusiastically sharing their ideas on the given contemporary issues. The debate competition was categorized among different classes like – “Gender Equality in Sports-How True?” (VI-VIII), “Is USA Really a Superpower?” (IX-X), “Zero Leased Budgeting for Marketing is a Smart Move (Commerce Stream)”, “Evolution Vs Creation (Science Stream)”.The Students performed well. In junior category Chhavi Sharma and Vilohit Khosa of Shankracharya House secured first position while Love Mathur and Deeksha Arora of Patel house bagged the second position. In the senior category S.Soundarya Lahari of Aryabhatta House brought laurels to the house standing first in the debate while Chaitanya Batra of Patel House secured the second position. Vidhi Saxena of Shankracharya house, Ishika Goel of Aryabhatta House and Harshita Bohara of Tagore House were declared the joint winners for the third position.

In the senior category Ritik of Shankracharya house stood first in Commerce stream while in Science stream Vedant of Tagore House secured first position.

ANTI CRACKER RALLY

The Eco Club organised ‘Anti Cracker Rally’ on 10th November,2015 where the students of our school went to adjoining areas holding banners and placards denouncing the use of crackers. They educated the people about the ill effects of burning crackers. They also took the pledge of not bursting crackers. The rally was flagged off by our Academic Director Ma’am Ms. Pratibha Sharma.

INTERHOUSE  POSTER  MAKING COMPETITION

 A poster making competition was held for the students of Class VI to X on 28th November2015 with an aim to help the students to exhibit their talent, besides showing love for science. It was a great opportunity to watch these young minds trying to create their ideas on paper. The theme for the competition for classes VI to VIII was” How science help in building Nation” and for Classes IX to X “.The competition was really enjoyed by all the students.

COMMUNITY  LUNCH

“A Joy that’s shared is a joy multiplied”. Sharing is a vital life skill. It is something that children need to learn in early years of life. They often need support to develop this skill. So we at BVM provided children with an opportunity to learn and practice sharing through an event called “Community Lunch”, which was organised for the classes III- VIII on 20th November2015. The students were encouraged to bring variety of food stuff from their homes. They shared it with their class mates. Children were introduced with the required etiquettes and table manners.  Student’s endeavour was highly applauded by the Academic Director Ma’am.

ROSE MAKING ACTIVITY

14th November, the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is celebrated as Children’s day. Nehruji was very fond of Children and was often referred to as Chacha Nehru. He was fond of Red roses. He always wore a Red rose in the pocket of his Achkan. He believed that children are like the buds in a garden. They should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they were the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. He felt that children are strength of a country and foundation of the society. To celebrate Children’s day, ROSE MAKING ACTIVITY was organized on 16th November 2015 for the students of class I. The students were asked to colour a rose flower and then decorate it with red and green glitters. They enjoyed the activity a lot.

CHILDREN’S DAY

Children’s day is celebrated on 14th November every year to celebrate the birthday of the first Prime Minister of our country Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. Children lovingly called him Chacha Nehru. Due to Diwali Holidays, Children’s Day was celebrated on 16th November 2015 in our school. Many activities were organized for the students on this day. Fun with clay activity was organized for the students of Class II. It was the perfect platform for the creative minds of the children to meet their fantasy needs. They made beautiful clay models of snake, flowers, tortoise and many others and displayed them with pride. The motive of this activity was to stimulate the imagination of the children and enable them to display it in form of class objects. It was fun to see the little hands at work as our young artists sculpted their imagination. The children enjoyed this activity.

DIWALI CELEBRATION

Diwali is certainly brightest of all the Hindu festivals. It is the festival of lights (deep means – light and avail means row i.e. a row of lights). It is the most auspicious and eagerly awaited festival by children. This festival of lights was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our school. Many activities were organized in the school (and a decoration activity was organized for the students of class II on 10th November 2015. The students brought colourful candles and decorated them with stars, mirrors and other decoration material. They beautifully decorated their candles. All the students enthusiastically participated in the activity. Children along with their teacher also decorated the class. The day was enjoyed by everyone.

FUN WITH CLAY ACTIVITY

Moulding clay is a great way to help children develop imagination and encourage creativity. It helps develop hand-eye coordination and refine motor skills. It also helps the children enhance their thinking skills by imagining an object and creating it.  FUN WITH CLAY ACTIVITY was organized on 10th November 2015 for the students of class I.
The students used their creativity and imagination to make beautiful candles and diyas with colourful clay. They decorated them with mirrors, glitters, stars etc. Each one of it was a masterpiece in itself. The students enjoyed the activity a lot.

Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir, Surya Niketan,  organized an inter house debate competition among the students of class IX- X  on 14th  July, 2015 in the school auditorium on the topic “ Is organic farming better than conventional methods of farming”. The participants won the hearts of the judges and the audience with their confidence, expression and talent; and made the event really memorable.

INTER HOUSE MATHEMATICS QUIZ


“MATH-E-GENIUS’’

“Mathematics is the knowledge with which God has written the universe” – Galileo
On day two of the Maths Week, Inter House Mathematics Quiz “math-e-genius” was organized for Class VI to VIII students. The primary objectives of this Quiz were to create interest of students in Mathematics, to test the mental alertness of the subject with the students, to encourage young learners to create a love for the subject, to perceive the connection of mathematical concepts with real life situations.
There were 4 participant teams in the quiz, namely:

  1. Aryabhatta’s Euclidians.  –        2nd position
  2. Patel’s Pythagoreans.
  3. Tagore’s Ramanujans. –            1st position
  4. Shankracharya’s Eulers.

The quiz consisted of 4 rounds:
 ROUND 1: Buzzar Round: To test the mental alertness and speed of the children in       
doing the maths calculation, a buzzer round was organized. The students tried to solve the sums as quickly as they could solve in the stipulated time.
ROUND 2: Visual Round: This round was to improve the visual skills of the students as they were asked to identify the mathematicians shown through pictures and answer the question related to that mathematician.
ROUND 4: Think and Solve: This was the next advanced level of the quiz. The questions here were typically brain teasers. The students were supposed to solve the questions in given time.
All the rounds of the quiz were greatly enjoyed by the students as well as the audience. 1st position was grabbed by Tagore’s Ramanujans , 2nd position by Aryabhatta’s Euclidians

CHEERIO

“JUST A NOTE TO SAY…AS YOU MOVE INTO A NEW VENTURE…MAY LUCK AND SUCCESS ALWAYS BE WITH YOU.”
A grand farewell was organised in Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir on 13th February ‘2015 to bid adieu to the batch of class XII. Along with the teachers and students of class XI and XII, the function was graced by the presence of the Director Sir, Academic Director Ma’am, Principal Sir and Vice-Principal Ma’am. The function commenced with vibrant and lively performances given by the students of class XI in the form of songs, dances and a skit. The students of class XII were looking very gorgeous and decent in their formal attire. The performances were followed by a ‘ramp walk’ which was the main highlight of the farewell. The students of class XII exhibited their latent talent in front of the applauding audience in an elegant and scintillating manner.
To make the event more memorable, the students of class XII conferred their teachers with fascinating titles. Likewise, the teachers also provided interesting titles like ‘Mr and Ms BVM’, ‘Best Personality’ and ‘Best Dressed’ to the students.
The students of class XII were overwhelmed after witnessing the innumerable efforts put in by the school for organizing such a marvellous programme for them. The function concluded with a heart-felt speech given by the Director Sir for their bright, promising and prosperous future. It was followed by the vote of thanks given by the Principal Sir.

SLOGAN WRITING AND POSTER MAKING COMPETITION   

Slogan writing and Poster Making Competition was held on 16th October, 2014 for classes VI – X. The theme for the same was “Say No to Crackers”. Students exhibited their enthusiasm by designing posters conveying the message of safe and protective Diwali. The creativity of the students was reflected through their slogans and posters.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY 

Saving environment is the need of hour and this was well displayed by the students of Shankracharya House by conducting a special assembly on 31st October, 2014. They performed enthusiastically on ‘Save nature, Save environment’. The basic  idea behind this assembly was to emphasize upon the need and importance of conserving natural resources and to motivate students to make optimum utilisation of resources. The students presented play using various props required for the same. They spread the message of saving the earth from environment degradation quite lucidly. The performance of the students was commendable

   


DEBATE COMPETITION

 An inter house debate competition was held for classes IX – XII on  31st oct,2014. The students displayed their zest by supporting or rejecting the motion with confidence. The topic for the category of IX _ X was “Should Public Sector Undertakings be Privatized “and for XI – XII the topic was “Globalization A Bane or Boon”. The time allotted to each student was 2-3 minutes. The winners were:

An inter house Ad Mad Competition was organised by the commerce department on 3rd Dec, 2014 to unleash the creative potential of the students. The students enthralled the audience with their unmatched confidence. They displayed their talent on the stage and endorsed different products with the help of different props. BEST OUT OF WASTE(VI-XII)

A global activity was conducted for the students of classes VI to XII on 16th May . For Classes 6th -8th “Best out of Waste” activity was conducted where students exhibited innovative and creative ideas.
 Another activity “Essay Writing competition” was held for the students of classes IX, X and XII on “Artificial Intelligence”. Students came up with very innovative ideas on the same.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE

A cleanliness drive was organized on 7th May 2014 to inculcate healthy habits and importance of cleanliness in the students. Students from 6th to 10th were involved in this drive.
The aim of this drive was to inculcate sense of preservation and conservation of ecology among students. Students picked up all the plastic and paper that they found in corridors and classrooms with great enthusiasm. Later on rooms were evaluated by a panel of judges.
Class VII-A bagged the 1st Prize followed by VI-D, X-B. They emphasised on “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.
